SAVE THEM ALL
Best Friends Animal Society, stationed in New York City, helps to save the lives of homeless pets, supporting other organizations in their efforts to make New York no-kill permanently. Around 44% of all animal in animal shelters are euthanized (put-down) because there is no room for them in the shelter and no one will adopt them. Best Friends Animal Society raises awareness about the nearly 5,500 dogs and cats killed every day in U.S. shelters.
I first heard about the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in New York City from a friend who volunteers there regularly. This shelter serves as both a space for local pets to find homes, and an outlet for the national no-kill message. I first heard about the no-kill movement from Best Friends NYC. They help to spread the word about their efforts to lead the country to no-kill by 2025.
